The Samskruthi Samvardhana Trust (SST), founded in 2020, aims to uphold Sanatana Bharatiya values while addressing social issues such as untouchability and caste discrimination. Its mission extends to organizing initiatives focused on improving the lives of underprivileged children in rural areas and tribal women. These efforts encompass various domains, including healthcare, nutrition, education, training, and skill development.
Our Resources
To achieve the Trust’s objectives efficiently, SST relies on a dedicated team of both full-time and part-time volunteers, working under the supervision of district, taluka, and zonal coordinators. These volunteers, who are rooted in local communities, bring valuable insights into regional dynamics, allowing them to tackle social challenges with precision. Their core duties involve engaging with community leaders, evaluating current social conditions, devising strategies to strengthen social harmony, and orchestrating inclusive events that unite individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Our Work Strategy
Acknowledging the challenges posed by social exclusion, SST has developed a comprehensive approach to create “SamskruthiRakshaSamithi” (Cultural Committees) in both rural and urban areas. These committees are designed to nurture harmony among diverse communities, advocating for equality and mutual respect. Comprised of representatives from various social groups, they facilitate activities such as interactive community events and address areas where marginalized groups experience discrimination—for instance, barriers to temple entry, employment opportunities, or access to shared resources. Through targeted outreach programs, these committees aim to integrate socially isolated families into mainstream society.
SST further emphasizes community-driven initiatives that inspire civic involvement and promote solidarity. Hosted during significant occasions, these events serve as dynamic platforms for strengthening bonds among different community segments while fostering values of inclusivity and shared respect.
Impact
In the past year, SST has made significant strides by establishing over 250 cultural committees and hosting more than 500 events. These initiatives include enabling temple access for marginalized communities, honoring national leaders, and conducting awareness campaigns on social reform. Moreover, the Trust supports informal tuition centers and organizes regular medical camps in partnership with local volunteer groups and associations.
To ensure the seamless implementation of these efforts, SST identifies socially committed individuals to serve as volunteers. These volunteers receive a modest honorarium to help cover essential expenses such as food and travel. Additionally, the Trust allocates resources for event organization, including provisions for food distribution, essential medicines, educational supplies for children, and transportation.
